CARROLLTON (KDAF) — They say it's "golf, but louder" — and the LIV Golf Team Championship is coming to Dallas this weekend.
From September 20-22, the Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton will feature some of the best players in the game as they battle for the champion title. Ahead of the tournament, Jenny Anchondo talked with some experts on what to expect.
"It's louder," said David Feherty, LIV Golf Lead Analyst. "There's music all around the golf course, it's kind of a party...But the team aspect is the main way in which it differs."
The LIV Golf Team Championship features 13 teams of four, instead of individual players, in a three-round "win and advance" tournament. For more information on how the teams and scoring works, watch here. Dallas is the finale, meaning this is the last chance for these top rated teams to win.
"It's going to energize people who love golf, understand golf, and introduce this to people who don't have a full understanding of golf," said Albert Huddleston, Owner of Maridoe Golf Club. "LIV is really creating more of a dynamic approach to golf, which I think is fantastic."
Bryson Dechambeau, a professional golfer in the LIV Golf League, also shared some advice for the younger generation of up-and-coming golfers.
"Over the course of time as you get better and get more engaged with it, you will feel this connection not only with the environment and nature, but the connection you have in control of your own destiny," Dechambeau said. "I think that's a cool perspective that it gives you in life."
